The Xoomulus
This is a design of my own based on the freeflight gas models like the Zeek or Honey-B or a Maverick. This type of nostalgia model looked like it could fly itself with lot's of stability. I wanted a big wing but light overall weight to carry the heavy speed 480 motor. Accomplished! It is a sporty flyer for just rudder and elevator. I think a more powerful battery is in order as my flights were only about 8 minutes, that motor burns through my nicad set even at half throttle. Pronounced "Zoom-you-luss" rhymes with "Cumulus".

Bought a can of spray dope in the clearance bin thinking it was clear, it was BLUE! Oh well, not a bad color. Flying surfaces are covered with tissue and dope. This shows the pylon supporting the wing. Fuse is built of 1/16 sheet.

This is the pylon contraption that has to be removed to access the battery, Not necessarily a good design.
