The
GWS Pico Stick-S kit that I had originally bought
but changed into the Pico
conversion left a few parts that were just screaming
to be used in some way. I was in the process of designing
a test bed for different wing assemblies and this
is what I came up with. I attached the pico wings
using
the original wing mounts supplied with the kit. HOWEVER,
they were too big and ugly. I put a straight edge
on them and carved away each end and cut down the
main
chord about 85%. Then I cut a graceful curve into
the outer tips of the wings to lighten them for this
new
use. Everything is attached with small zip ties.Wheels
are 1/8 sheet balso with a brass tube glued in as
a bushing. The motor stick (fuse) is carved from cedar
siding that was removed from my house during remodling. Some
day I may attach the pico motor for some electric
FF
fun, but for right now It flies smooth and slow and
I see no reason to mess with the design anymore.
This is recycling.
