Powered Glider
This is a rebuild of the entire fuse and drive train. Never really got the power to weight desired previuosly using a geared 280. I had been holding onto a salvaged motor from my Braun electric shaver which had died. I found that it is the same motor used in the Firebird kits and was very light, strong and able to turn a direct prop. I dropped considerable weight without the gearbox and by using a 5 cell battery pack. It is made of 5 aaa size NiMH batteries I built into a pack.

Actually, my friend with a firebird had borrowed this wing and flew it around with excellent results. That is what made me realize the motor and prop setup were quite adequate for the wing surface to allow lots of soaring. Still waiting to get it into the air for a long flight.

The fuse could even be a little longer for better stability. The boom is made of a carbon fiber arrow shaft purchased from the parts bin at an archery shop.

The windshield is a shampoo bottle carved down to just the peice I needed.
